Climate change is affecting life on earth for plants, animals and also people. We are working hard to play our part in building a sustainable future and a more inclusive world.

Sustainability means the world to us

To reduce the environmental impact of all parts of our business, we are currently working on a broad range of initiatives, which include transitioning to more sustainable raw materials, using more sustainable packaging and making our business more circular. By 2026, we will have doubled our spending on sustainable initiatives compared to 2023.

  • Recyclable or renewable artificial grass

    All our products are at least recyclable into other materials. In addition, we have our Ecoflex backing which makes artificial grass renewable in a closed loop. To put this in practice, SLG is shareholder of the recycling facility GBN Artificial Grass Recycling in the Netherlands. When we install or renew artificial turf pitches, we always take the old artificial turf to a recycling company.

  • Innovative water solutions

    Our artificial grass systems are now being designed with water-saving and buffering features that enhance sustainability and climate resilience. A smart solution for sustainable water management in urban environments, including water savings, water permeability and buffering.

  • ECHA compliant products

    To comply with the ECHA's recent ban on microplastics, we are actively exploring a range of alternative options. This includes natural and organic infill, non-infill solutions, and advanced yarn technology to fully align with the ECHA guidelines.

  • Use of post-recycled materials

    Our customers can choose football artificial grass made with post-consumer recycled materials which are ISCC Plus Certified (International Sustainability & Carbon Certificate). ISCC certification provides a scheme for organic and recycled materials from food packaging, chemicals, plastics and textiles.

  • Take back programm

    In collaboration with SLG and GBN AGR we give artificial grass a second life. With this initiative, Ecoflex artificial grass is collected, cleaned, and fully recycled into high-quality PE products - contributing to circularity, reducing CO² emissions, and conserving raw materials.
