Namsports expands sustainable artificial grass range with ONE-DNA™ and introduces Pure PT Play.

Namsports, a supplier of Belgian-made artificial grass, is further expanding its range and making it more sustainable through a strategic partnership with ONE-DNA™ from the Netherlands. At the same time, Namsports is introducing Pure PT Play, an innovative, non-infill artificial grass solution that specifically meets the needs of municipalities, schools, recreational and public spaces. Together, they represent an important step towards a circular and future-proof sports infrastructure.

Making the existing range more sustainable

Where traditional artificial grass consists of multiple plastics that are more difficult to recycle, ONE-DNA™ is made from a single polymer. This artificial grass was designed for circularity and is considerably easier to recycle at the end of its life. ONE-DNA™ thus complements Namsports' existing range with a future-oriented solution that responds to the growing demand for sustainable infrastructure.

The ONE-DNA™ products are developed in the Netherlands, in close collaboration with TenCate, and are SGS Intron certified. The performance and environmental impact of the products are sustantiated by a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and recorded in an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This provides clients with objective and verifiable data on the entire life cycle of the artificial grass: from raw materials and production, to use, renovation and end of life.

All relevant information is also complied in a digital product passport. This passport offers cities, municipalities and other clients transparent insight into material composition, circularity, certifications, maintenance requirements and recycling options.

Pure PT Play: minimaal maintenance, maximum impact

With Pure PT Play, Namsports introduces an artificial grass solution designed for intensive and multifunctional use in public spaces. The system is non-infill, which means that no sand, cork or other material is required. This results in:

  • Virtually no maintenance, and therefore lower long-term maintenance costs
  • No release of microplastics, as loose infill disappears
  • Always playable, even in rain, frost or extreme heat
  • Multifunctional use for sports, games and recreation
  • Easy recycling at the end of its life

Thanks to these properties, Pure PT Play is particularly suitable for football pitches, playgrounds, school environments, neighbourdhood squares, indoor projects and other meeting places where sustainability, ease of use and social cohesion come together.

Take back programme and renovation market

Both ONE-DNA™ and Pure PT Play fit within a circular model that focuses on the take back and reuse of materials at the end of their life cycle. The specific details of a take back programme are determined on the basis of regional agreements and in collaboration with local organisations and processing partners.

This approach makes the solutions particulary relevant for the renovation market, where existing artificial grass installations can be gradually replaced by more sustainable systems. By combining local customisation with circular principles, waste is minimised and logistics and costs remain manageable for cities, municipalities and other clients.

Namsports as a changemaker

With these expansions, Namsports confirms its role as a changemaker within the sports and recreation infrastructure. "The demand from cities, municipalities and sports clubs for sustainable solutions is growing rapidly."

“We remain committed to quality and local anchoring, but we also feel a responsibility to make our sector more sustainble," says Namsports. "By working together, we can already offer circular solutions today that are ready for the challenges of tomorrow. Knowledge, guidenace and implementation are bundled into sustainable total solutions."
